HOW TO ADD CUSTOM FAVICON TO YOUR BLOGGER BLOG

Adding a custom Favicon to  your Blogger blog is one of the ways to make your free Blogger blog look beautiful and professional.

By default your new Blogger blog will have the Blogger icon as it's Favicon. But it is always great to add yours.

Why??

Because it helps your audience know and recognize your blog when they see it online.

For example, if you search our blog www.bloggerfornewbies.com online our Favicon will assure you that it is actually ours.

It makes your blog look professional and promote your brand, since your Favicon is usually your business or brand logo and icon.

It is a little logo or design that is used to identify your blog on a browser usaually seen in the browser's address bar.

THE SIZE OF FAVICON SUITABLE FOR BLOGGER

In order to successfully add a custom Favicon to your Blogger blog, your Favicon must be  the right size. 

Your  Blogger Favicon should be less than 100 KB and squared in shape.

It should be a  multiple of 48px square, That is 24x24px, 48x48px, 96x96px and so on.

Any valid favicon format is supported. But don't upload a Favicon of 16x16px.

HOW TO CREATE YOUR  CUSTOM FAVICON

You can easily create your Favicon by designing an image using Corel draw, Photoshop and  any other Graphic software, or Use your brand logo.

Convert the image to a format accepted by all browses (.ico file) using an online platform like favicon.io

Click the PNG > ICO button to change your .png image to a favicon format accepted by any browser ( which is .ico ) 

After uploading your image, convert it and download the .ico format. 

NOTE: in case your want to use your .png and .jpeg format of your image, feel free; Blogger accepts them as long as the image is squared in shape and less 100 KB. 

HOW TO ADD YOUR FAVICON TO BLOGGER

Go to your Blogger dash board and locate the settings section. Click it, below the section called BASIC you will find the Favicon button.

Click the Favicon button and upload your custom Favicon to your Blogger blog.

CLICK THE FAVICON LINK AS SHOWN IN THE IMAGE ABOVE.

To upload your favicon click the choose file button highlighted below and select your image. After that, click save and refresh your browser to view how it looks on your blog.
