In our last article we talked about 5 benefits of using free blogging platform like Blogger for your first blog as a newbie, so in this blog post we will take you from step one to step finish of creating a Blogger blog.
Okay! Let's dive in.
What is Blogger?
In case you don't know, Blogger is a free blogging and content management platform owned and powered by Google. It provides users with free lifetime hosting and subdomain name i.e. your free blog comes with a free subdomain url like yourblogname.blogspot.com, which your visitors or readers can use to search and find your blog on the world wide web.
What do I need to create a Blogger blog?
you may be asking yourself, "what are the things I need to start a blogger blog". Well they are basically two things _which you might already have now.
1. Your Device
It could be a smartphone, tablet or computer like laptop and desktop, but we recommend computer for easy customization.
2. Googles' Gmail Account
This is actually the first thing you need to have, for you to create your free blog in Blogger. If you have google (yourname@gmail.com) account, then you automatically have an account with Blogger. So all you need to do now is to log in to blogger and start creating and managing blogs but if you don't have one, then click the link accounts.gmail.com to get one.
HOW TO CREATE YOUR BLOGGER BLOG
STEP 1: Go to Blogger's Official Website
Go to Blogger's website by clicking this link blogger.com. You will see a page like the one below👇👇, then click "CREATE YOUR FREE BLOG".
STEP 2: Choose Your Gmail Account
Choose the gmail account you want to use to create your Blogger blog. It could be a previous account or you can decide to sign up for a new one.
STEP 3: Confirm your Account
Put your password and click next to confirm that the account is yours.
STEP 4: Choose name, url and Blog title
At this point you need to choose your blog title i.e the name of your blog, url and display name (the name that we show when people search your blog online).
If the url you choose for your Blog is taken then try using random names, since you can edit later or use a custom domain url.
Note: You can skip the name section and click next to continue with the process
When you are done with choosing and imputing blog title, Url and confirming your display name then click the finish tab in the image above and you will be brought to a page similar to the one below.
Then you are done and have a new free Blogger blog ready for use.
